ABOUT US
Who we are, what we do, and why legal, compliant electric vehicles matter.
WHO WE ARE
Legal Moto Dealer is an independent online catalog and information platform dedicated exclusively to street-legal electric bikes, pit bikes, e-motos, and e-scooters. We are based in the United States and serve riders across the US and Europe. We are not a single manufacturer or dealership — we are a curated marketplace that connects riders with compliant vehicles from dozens of verified brands.
OUR MISSION
We built Legal Moto Dealer to solve a real problem. Most high-performance electric vehicles sold online ship in an unlocked state — capable of speeds and power outputs that legally classify them as motor vehicles in many jurisdictions. That creates legal, insurance, and safety exposure for buyers, especially parents buying for younger riders. Our mission is simple: every vehicle purchased through our site should arrive configured to its appropriate street-legal specification — without the buyer needing to do anything extra.
HOW THE LOCK WORKS
When you click "Buy Now" on any product, your checkout link carries an embedded order note that is automatically passed to the seller at purchase. The note instructs the retailer to ship the vehicle capped at your region's legal limit — 750W and 20–28 MPH for US e-bikes, or 250W and 25 KM/H for EU e-scooters. You do not need to email, call, or request anything; the instruction is built into the checkout link every single time.
WHAT WE LIST
Our catalog spans three US e-bike categories — Pedal Bikes, Pit Bikes, and E-Moto — plus a dedicated international E-Scooter section. We carry established brands including Sur-Ron, Talaria, E-Ride Pro, Riding Times, Yozma, Cemoto, Altis Powersports, 79Bike, Eskute, Freego, Heybike, Bonnell, Jasion, Rawrr, KuKirin, Ausom, Joyor, Angwatt, Dualtron, Nanrobot, Navee, ienyrid, and Boyueda. Every listing is shown with its legal-limited specifications regardless of the manufacturer's advertised unlocked numbers.
OUR BUSINESS MODEL — FULL TRANSPARENCY
Legal Moto Dealer operates on a pure affiliate model. We do not hold inventory, process payments, or ship products. Every purchase is completed directly on the official manufacturer or retailer website, and we earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through our outbound links. This means you always buy from the original retailer — with the retailer's own warranty, support, and return policies applying directly. There is no middleman taking possession of the product.
This model also keeps the Site free for riders. There are no subscriptions or paywalls. We display advertising to support operating costs.
WHY IT MATTERS
Riding an unlocked vehicle on public roads can expose a rider to liability as an unlicensed motor vehicle operator, and insurance policies that cover bicycle use typically do not cover unregistered motor vehicles. A legally configured vehicle is a bicycle or personal light electric vehicle — standard bicycle liability coverage applies in most cases, and in many states a teenager can legally ride it to school. The legal cap is also a meaningful safety boundary, not just a legal technicality.
